How are Rufus Chews made?

Everything in our range are made from single proteins - air dried to perfection.

That's it! No additives or preservatives, just 100% natural Australian meat. (Commercial brands are loaded with preservatives, fillers and other
nasties).

As most of the water has been dried from our Chews, they are delicious, chewy (of course) and have a great shelf life.

Processed in an FDA approved, spotless human-grade facility using only Australian animals.

Where are your ingredients sourced from?

All our products are single ingredient - only 100% Australian meat is used.

We only source meat from local Australian farmers from our facility in Brisbane.

So all our products are 100% Australian, from 100% Aussie animals and 100% Aussie farmers!

Are the bones safe for my dog to chew?

Yes absolutely! Rufus Chews are slowly Air Dried which means the Chews are dehydrated,
including the bones.

Air dried bones will crumble when chewed & are easily digested, so no risk of splinters like regular raw or cooked bones!

So yes the bones are easy for the dogs to chew, swallow and digest.

Do you ship Australia wide?

Yes, we ship to every nook and cranny of this wonderful country!

We use Australia post and Aramex Couriers.

Your order will leave from our Brisbane location and will usually ship within 1-2 working days of the
order being placed.

From there, your order should be delivered between 2-10 days depending on your location, mostly
2-5 days.

We offer Free Shipping for any orders over $150.
Over $99 we offer $7.50 shipping
Under $99 we offer $12.50 shipping

What is the expiration date for Rufus Chews?

Rufus Chews will be shipped to you with approx 12 months shelf life.

They will be fine for this period of time if kept in a cool place, out of direct sunlight and most importantly, sealed.

Humidity is not our friend, as the Chews have had most of the water air dried out, so will suck back in moisture quite quickly so please be mindful of this after opening the bag.

How much should I feed my dog?

It is important to feed you dog a well balanced diet.  Rufus Chews can form a part of that diet. Our chews all natural, single ingredient proteins without any additives or preservatives, sugar free no colours or flavours.

The water is removed and you are left with a condensed set of high quality nutrients.

If you feed you dog our Chews just take that into account with your dog’s overall intake.

What is the best type of treat for my dog?

As all dogs have different needs and tastes depending on breed and size, that is not an easy question to answer.  We have a drop down dog size recommendation section but each dog is individual so think about your dog’s enthusiasm for chewing, jaw size & determination.

As a guide though:

Small Size Chews – For small dogs or light chewers

Medium Size Chews – For medium dogs or dogs who chew normally

Large Size Chews – For Large Dogs or smaller dogs who can go the chew!

Can I feed Rufus Chews to my cat or other animal?

Absolutely! Obviously a smaller animal will need a smaller portion or piece but any most loving creatures will adore Rufus Chews!

My dog's favourite treat is out of stock, when will it be back?

Sometimes certain chews are out of stock, which cuts are available can be affected by supply and demand! Generally we will have out of stock lines back in 2-3 weeks.

I have a new puppy, which chews would be best?

We have a recommended “Small Size Chews” section for smaller dogs and puppies but as a rule the Kangaroo Cubes & Jerkies are great for Pups as they are small and a bit softer.

Many of the chews can be broken or cut into smaller pieces for puppies.

What payment options do you have?

We accept Visa Mastercard, ApplePay, Paypal & Bank Transfer payments.

Rufus Chews have a smell to them, is that normal?

Yes it is normal.  Because the Chews have no preservatives or additives added, they are a completely natural product. They have been slowly air dried which takes most of the moisture from the product to preserve. They will be a little bit smelly and you know what?  Doggos love the smell! (not so much we humans!)
